Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog
What do you get when you cross a phenomenal director, great actors, super-villains, and musicals? Pretty much the greatest thing the internet has ever seen. Joss Whedon, along with Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, Felicia Day, and awesome behind the scenes people, has created an epic (in awesomeness, not length; hey size doesn't matter, it's how you use what you got. I don't care what she tells you! It's all lies! That TRAMP is just trying to make me look... sorry, slight tangent. Where was I? Ah, yes...) short film that was developed specifically for the internet.
This movie has something for everyone, whether you're a fan of musicals, comedies, or superhero movies. (If you find none of those categories enjoyable, I submit to you that you are not human. You might want to get that DNA checked; my guess is you are most likely some kind of wildebeest.) As of today, July 18th, only the first two parts have been released. The third act is due out tomorrow. They will be available for viewing until the end of Sunday, and then they will be taken down.
But don't worry, there's a plan for you to be able to download them for a small fee, as well as purchase the DVD which is in the works. Joss Whedon explains it better than I would, but the short version is that a lot of actors and writers are tired of the Hollywood machine. They're working on a way to start things over, so to speak. I recommend reading what he has to say.
Oh, and watch the movie. NOW.
